The Origin Story – How I became a Web Designer

I began my working career as an accountant after graduating college with a degree in business. A good plan made me feel better, and trust me, I had everything all planned out. It definitely did not involve being a business owner, living abroad, or learning to code. And as the story sometimes goes, I met my husband, and he upended all of my careful plans!

But I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to experience a life I could have never imagined and definitely not planned. I fell into web development on a whim, and just loved the creative process and the problem solving. After that, I never looked back. I pursued a second degree in Computer Science. I’ve been proudly making WordPress themes since 2019. As I move from a toddler / newborn mom to my soccer mom era, I’m so thankful this business has been with me through each stage.

Something Unexpected about Me:

I’ve lived in 4 different countries over the last 10 years, including my home country of America. The best place I’ve lived has been Slovenia. If you get the chance, go visit!

My Career Before Web Design:

For 5 years, I worked in the corporate world. I have no plans to go back, but my earlier experiences have been a huge benefit to growing and running my own business.

Making Themes is My Dream Job:

I just love the creative process of making themes – from designing to building. I put so much thought into each one!

When I’m not Working, You’ll Find Me:

With my family! I’m a mother of three little kids. I started making themes when I was pregnant with my middle child and now he’s a thriving 5-year-old.
